Press Break Operator - Night Shift

Pay: $22.00 per hour


Summary/Objective

The Press Brake Operator sets up and operates computer numerical control machines and manual machines to fabricate parts. The Press Brake Operator loads parts in the machine, cycles machine and detects malfunctions in machine operations, such as worn or damaged cutting tools. The position runs production lots, communicates with co-workers regarding production runs, and maintains a safe, organized and clean work environment.

  • Program parts.
  • Build prototype units.
  • Layout blank sizes.
  • Calculate circumference.
  • Determine best use of material.
  • Load and run programs.

  • Reading and applying decimal charts.
  • Using dial calipers and other inspection gauges.
  • Die handling and safety.
  • Performing preventive maintenance procedures.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment can be loud.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The position requires frequent lifting, pushing, and pulling objects that are 85 pounds or heavier with assistance.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Sunday through Thursday, 9:30 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.

Travel

No travel is expected for this position.

Required Education and Experience

Minimum one year of related experience in setup and operation.

Preferred Education and Experience

Two or more years of related experience in setup and operation.
